History of GNU/Linux

Over at All about Linux, I found a story on The Complete Concise History of GNU/Linux. It’s a neat summary on the history of Linux and a who’s who of open source and free software. It’s not the best looking group of people you’ll ever see, but Linux wouldn’t be here today without them.

Libraries have a lot in common with the open source movement. Both believe that access to information should be made freely available. Many libraries are moving to open source for everything from web browsers to ILS’s to WiFi gateways.
